We are a group of local residents who use Bruce Castle Park for a variety of reasons at different times. But we all have one thing in common: we feel very privileged to call Bruce Castle Park our local park and we want it to be a park for everyone to enjoy!
Having joined the Friends of Bruce Castle Museum as members in 2015, a few of us wished to get more involved in supporting issues relating to Bruce Castle Park. The Friends of Bruce Castle has been a long standing voluntary, community based group whose focus is to support Bruce Castle Museum and its park and we felt that an additional Friends' Group for the park could benefit the local community and could contribute positively to the maintenance and improvement of the park.
We have started to establish links with local councillors, council officers, the Safer Neighbourhood Team and other local community initiatives such as the Antwerp Arms and the Pavilion.
We strongly believe that by working together, by embracing the diversity of local residents and by engaging with park users, we will be able to keep Bruce Castle Park as the unique centre of our community for everybody to enjoy!
